DESCRIPTION:This is a 3 day course. NEW 2026 – This BLENDED course combines an online training (OLT – 4 hrs) component and an instructor-led training (ILT – 8 hrs)  component\, and 2 Field Days (FD – 16 hrs). Students must complete the online portion and send the completed certificate to dsimswcfa@gmail.com to attend the in-person learning. This course allows students to start a FAL3 Taskbook that they should bring to the class. Full PPE REQUIRED! Bring leather boots\, chainsaw\, fuel\, oil\, saw tools\, saw chaps\, gloves\, helmet\, eye protection and a warm coat if needed. Students will need to bring a lunch and drinks for the Field Days.
