Old Business
We discussed training and Danielle shared numbers from the current season. We discussed developing the next refresher. Danielle shared how hard it is to come up with the information and would like help this year. Much discussion followed. Several ideas were shared. We feel it’s important to add hard hats and gloves to the shelter deployment.

Political Action Committee – Kevin shared that he and Todd went to Kenniwick and met with Chief North at the Fire Defense Committee meeting. Talked about filling out Strike teams with privates, we would like to be called in sooner as resources. Didn’t happen. We will keep up on this. Chief North invited us again to go to the Fire Chief’s Conference but we don’t feel that it is worth our time.

Reed asked what had become of the forgery of a fire card with Danielle’s signature. Nothing has been reported.

New Business

New member, Ballard Ambulance, letter from S&L approving Scott Darwood to be added as an owner to his membership.

Continue working on the database.

Missing equipment from new agreements – Kevin reviewed the information about 16 pieces of equipment that didn’t get on the agreement. He shared the steps that have been taken to try and get this resolved. We are still waiting on a response from DC. Much discussion followed.

Jacob Burkhart shared the distressing information about his Department of Labor Audit. Jacob wanted to know what could possibly be done as an association. Much discussion followed. A separate presentation will take place after the general meeting.

Medical services advisory committee. A presentation by Wayne Walker with Lifeline Ambulance said he would like to see the WCFA for a committee for Medical Contractors to help resolve issues with the Forest Service. Much discussion followed. Motion to form a committee by Todd Graves who offered to Chair, with co-chair Wayne Walker. Reed Gracie seconded, all approved. They will seek members from each medical contractor to be part of this committee.

Other new business
Records MOU is coming up and is due October 7th. Danielle will work on and get this submitted.

Kevin shared that he is getting out of the fire business. He will continue in his position until May. He will continue on as an instructor at least for the next training season. Everyone was shocked and saddened by the news. Many thanks were shared.

The NWSA Conference in February is usually attended by Kevin and one board member. Kevin will not be going. Tim, Todd, Saul and Dave’s names will be put in the hat and chosen at the general meeting.
